Cypress Lake grad one of several killed in Tampa crash

TAMPA, Fla. - The Florida Highway Patrol says five people have died following a wrong way crash Sunday morning on a Southwest Florida highway.

One of those killed, 20-year-old Imtiyaz "Jim" Ilias, was a graduate of Cypress Lake High School in Fort Myers.

Ilias and his three fraternity brothers from the University of Southwern Florida died when an SUV driving on the wrong side of I-275 in Tampa collided head-on with their car. 

The SUV burst into flames, the crash killing the driver inside,.

The highway was closed for several hours and re-opened around 7 a.m.

The accident remains under investigation.
