Cypress Lake coach suspended for 2 games
FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Lee County School District reported to FOX 4 News that Cypress Lake High School has suspended assistant football coach Chris Morant for two games.
FOX 4 News broke the exclusive video of Morant pushing a Dunbar High football player as he ran out of bounds during a game last week.
When the video was brought to the District's attention by FOX 4 News Morant was initially suspended for an undetermined amount of time pending the outcome of an investigation.
Morant was not allowed on the sideline for last night's game against Island Coast which Cypress Lake lost. He will also miss next week's game against Mariner.
The incident was brought to the attention of FOX 4 News by the parent of the player who was pushed by Morant. She was frustrated by the lack of action taken at the time.
