PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Charlotte County is asking the public to help identify a woman caught using a stolen credit card.
A Port Charlotte man who lost his wallet discovered that someone had tried to charge hundreds of dollars in gift card purchases on two of his missing credit cards.
The victim reported that he last remembered having his wallet when he paid for his meal at a local restaurant on the evening of Thursday January 30. When he woke the next morning and couldn’t find his wallet, the man discovered that someone had tried to use at least two of his credit cards.
One of the cards was used four times at a local Walgreens and a local CVS. At about 6:00 a.m., the same woman wearing the same clothing tried to purchase more than $300 worth of gift cards. Those transactions did not clear.
