Child stuck by school bus in Cape Coral
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Cape Coral police are investigating an incident involving a child struck by a school bus Monday morning.
The incident happened around 6:30 a.m. when police and fire responded to the 2200 block of Embers Parkway West where a girl had been hit by a bus.
The girl was reportedly struck by the bus on the front right corner. She was "conscious and coherent" according to paramedics and was transported to the hospital with moderate injuries.
Cape Coral Police conducted the investigation and eastbound lanes of Embers Parkway from the 2300 block to the 2200 block were blocked off during the morning commute.
Police and fire officials remind students and parents that even though the days are getting longer and morning sun is rising earlier, it is still imperative to be extremely careful at bus stops.
