Charges formally filed in Fort Myers murder case
FORT MYERS, Fla. - James "Baby J" Brown will face a charge of 2nd degree murder for the Saturday January 25th shooting of 17-year-old Alexis Wilson Fort Myers. The State Attorney formally filed the charges today.
The 19-year-old Brown will also face two charges of attempted 2nd degree murder for wounding two passengers in the vehicle Wilson was riding in and a charge of shooting into an occupied vehicle. That charge stems from a third passenger in the car who escaped unharmed.
The murder happened at just after 2:30 a.m. Saturday January 25th, when police responded to a gunshots call at the intersection of Winkler Avenue and Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard.
Investigators say a vehicle pulled up beside the victim's vehicle and opened fire. The victim's vehicle was hit multiple times and those inside immediately drove to Lee Memorial Hospital.
