Cape murder suspect returned to Florida
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - A man wanted in connection with the 2011 murder of a Cape Coral teacher was returned to Lee County early Friday morning.
47-year-old Daniel Ray Proctor had been serving a life sentence Alabama for crimes he committed there. He was sought as a suspect since the murder of his ex-wife, Amy Patterson since 2011.
Patterson's body wasn't recovered until Proctor was convicted and sentenced. It was at that time he told investigators where to look for her remains on Pine Island in August 2012.
Proctor was booked into the Lee County Jail around 3:50 a.m.
