CAPE CORAL – The fire department rescued a stray dog from a drain pipe near a canal Wednesday.

The Mixed-American Bulldog apparently fell into the canal in the 1700 block of Cape Coral Parkway East.  Then swam into the drainage system and clawed her way into an outlet pipe.

Daphne, as she's now being called, did not have any identification or a collar.

If no owner comes forward she will be available for adoption.

If you have any information about this dog, call Lee County Domestic Animal Services at 239-533-7387.
