Cape Coral teen claims sex assault after Internet hook-up
GOLDEN GATE, Fla. - A Cape Coral teenage girl is claiming a Golden Gate man sexually assaulted her after they first met on the Internet.
25-year-old Senat Chounem is charged with sexual battery along with obscene communications and using a computer to lure a child.
The 15-year-old victim says she started communicating with Chounem on line using a website called meetme.com and through KIK for several weeks.
The two eventually arraigned to meet the victim at a Cape Coral park with a friend of the suspect coming along on Thursday January 23, 2014.
The trio eventually drove to Collier County to the suspect's home. The victim told Collier County investigators that she was forced to have sex with both men.
The following day the victim told a friend what happened and they decided to call authorities. The problem was that the victim could not remember where the suspect lived.
Eventually an undercover Internet chat led authorities to Chounem. Chounem was led to believe he was chatting with a minor and according to the arrest report told the undercover officer he wanted to have sex with her.
Detectives arrested Chounem Thursday during the planned hook-up in a store parking lot.
Detectives are still actively looking for the second suspect.
