Bar shooting suspect returned to Lee County

FORT MYERS, Fla. - A man wanted in connection with a November 2013 shooting incident at the Gulf Coast Town Center was returned from North Carolina early Monday morning to face justice.

33-year-old Jose Carlos Martins is accused of shooting into a crowded restaurant, The House of Brewz.

Martins fled Southwest Florida and was captured two weeks later at a hotel in Boone, North Carolina.

He was finally extradited back to Lee County and now sits in the Lee County Jail facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and firing into an occupied building.

Martins had been a former employee at the restaurant.
