Arrests in Port Charlotte home invasion
PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Charlotte County detectives arrested two people Wednesday night in connection with a home invasion robbery.
The crime happened on the 3000 block of Lucerne Terrace where the victim said a man and a woman broke into his home and the duo tried to rob him at gunpoint.
The victim said he knew one of the suspects and identified him as 19-year-old Jonathon Aaron Gardner. He said Gardner pointed a gun at him while 18-year-old Hannah Christine Pape went through his belongings.
When the two realized the victim had no money they fled in a red Ford.
About an hour later, deputies stopped a red Ford Focus at Theresa Blvd. and Rutland Circle that was being driven by Gander. Both Gander and Pape matched the descriptions of the suspects given by the victim.
Both were arrested and charged with home invasion robbery with a firearm.
