LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. - Lee County detectives arrested a Lehigh Acres man Monday for his role in a crash that killed two people in November.

45-year-old Remijio Saldana Perez was arrested at his home last night.

Investigators say Perez was drunk as he drove a pickup truck on November 27, 2013.  Perez failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Columbus Boulevard and State Road 82.

His pickup hit a SUV traveling west on SR 82 causing that vehicle to flip upside down, landing in a drainage canal full of water killing both occupants of the SUV.

Killed were 56-year-old Charles David Bader of Venice, Florida and 66-year-old Michael Nicholas Katyryniuk of Tellico Plains, Tennessee.

Perez is charged with two counts of DUI manslaughter, DUI over .15 and DUI with property damage.
