FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Lee County Sheriff's Office announced one arrest with another to follow in a deputy involved shooting that happened early Sunday in Fort Myers.

A woman that was a passenger in a stolen vehicle, 25-year-old Hope Kimber, has been charged with vehicle theft and dealing in stolen property.

The man she was with, accused of trying to run deputies over, was shot and remains hospitalized.

The incident happened just after 3 a.m. at the Pilot Travel Plaza on Plaza Drive just off I-75.

Deputies were checking out a possible stolen vehicle at one of the pumps.  As deputies tried to initiate contact, the driver rammed two squad cars and attempted to run over deputies in an attempt to get away.

Deputies opened fire on the man, who was struck once. But he continued to drive away at a high rate of speed.  A short distance later, he crashed into a parked truck and ran from the vehicle.
