19th District Congressional candidate forums announced
NAPLES, Fla. - A series of five public forums will be held for the candidates running for the 19th District Congressional seat.
The Southwest Florida Citizens' Alliance will hosts the events which will include all six qualified candidates running for the seat vacated by Trey Radel.
The forums will include the four Republicans running in a special GOP primary April 22nd, State Senator Lizbeth Benaquisto, Curt Clausen, former State Representative Paige Kreegel and Michael Dreikorn. Also at the forums will be the two candidates on the June 24 ballot, Democrat April Freeman and Libertarian Ray Netherwood.
At each forum, the individual candidates will be asked by moderators to respond to a series of questions about themselves and their positions. The public is encouraged to submit questions in advance by e-mail to: CD19forum@aol.com or written on cards that will be provided at the start of each event, scheduled as follows:
March 11, Tuesday, 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Marco Island History Museum, Rose Hall
180 S. Heathwood Drive on Marco Island. Doors open at 6: 30 p.m. to meet the candidates.
March 20, Thursday 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in North Naples, 3000 Orange Blossom Drive. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. to meet the candidates.
March 22, Saturday 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Cape Coral First Baptist Church, 4117 Coronado Parkway in Cape Coral. Doors open at 1:15 p.m. to meet the candidates.
March 29, Saturday, 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Riverside Church, 8660 Daniels Parkway in Fort Myers. Doors open at 1:15 p.m. to meet the candidates.
March 31, Monday, 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), Edwards Hall, Room 112
10501 FGCU Boulevard in Fort Myers. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. to meet the candidates.
Forum moderators will vary and include Drew Steele from FOX Radio 92.5 FM, Dave Elliott from (WGUF Radio 98.9 FM, Pastor Rick Stevens of Diplomat Wesleyan Church and Dr. Peter Bergerson, FGCU Professor of Public Affairs.
