$1 million grow house bust in Cape Coral

CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Cape Coral police took down a massive grow house operation Thursday night.

Police went to a home in the 1200 block of NE 8th Place with a search warrant to seize marijuana and equipment used to cultivate it.

When they arrived at the house they spotted 40-year-old Yoel Escano Trimino going into the home and then coming back out.  They served Trimino with a warrant and after reading him his Miranda Rights he asked for an attorney.

Once inside the home police found three rooms in the house dedicated to growing marijuana.  Each room with outfitted with air conditioning, mylar, grow lights and plant food.  Police took 60 marijuana plants in all weighing more than 436 pounds.

They also seized the growing equipment.  In all the haul was worth around $1 million.

LCEC later determined that Trimino was illegally diverting power into the house.

Trimino is charged with marijuana trafficking, producing marijuana, possession of drug equipment and petit theft.
