Bowl for Kids’ Sake
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is joining forces with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast in Lee County to invite the community to Bowl for Kids’ Sake. The event will be held at Gator Lanes in Fort Myers, Saturday, Aug. 2 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with teams playing in two-hour increments. The Animal Refuge Center Save a Pet Lab, WaterVentures Florida’s Learning Lab and the Lee Memorial Blood Mobile will also be on-site. Face painting, a 50-50 raffle and prizes for best and worst bowlers will be awarded. Organizer Deputy Mike Elkady has recruited 40 team captains from the Sheriff’s Office with teams of six players each. Mentors and their “littles” in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program are also forming teams. Community members are invited to come out and bowl and support the Big Brothers Big Sisters mission. Bowlers are asked to rsvp with firstname.lastname@example.org and can pay at the door. Registration is $25 per team member, which includes two hours of bowling, shoes, pizza and drinks with the proceeds benefiting the youth of Big Brothers Big Sisters in Lee County. Sponsorships are also available starting at $250. Gator Lanes is located at 7050 Crystal Drive in Fort Myers. Lanes are still available for the public to participate.
