Purify, Deepen, and Grow: The Tristhana Method of Ashtanga Yoga – A Master Class
Ashtanga Yoga utilizes a three-fold approach called Tristhana. Tristhana consists of correct breathing (Ujjayi breathing), yoga postures/asanas (including correct use of the bandhas), and precise gazing (drishti). In this workshop, we will deconstruct the three folds of tristhana and become more aware of why and how to integrate them into your practice. We will then apply the tristhana method to the Full Primary series focusing on each fold. Through this method practitioners develop control of the senses, a deep awareness of themselves and their inner sensations, emotions, and workings of the mind. Join visiting teacher, Heather Serna, for this amazing workshop as she takes you to the next level of your practice. Heather will also be sharing her experiences studying in India and becoming authorized to teach Ashtanga Yoga by Sharath Rangaswamy Jois, grandson of Sri. K. Patabbhi Jois.
