Saturday, February 1st, the 3rd Annual K is for Kids From the Teen Fashion Show will be hosted by Barron Collier High School in Naples. The evening's events take place in the school's auditorium and includes a silent auction beginning at 6:00 p.m. and fashion show at 7:00 p.m. Child models from pre-Kindergarten through 'tweens will start the evening's entertainment. Teens will also perform talent acts throughout the show. This year student organizers will be award cash prizes to the top three talent acts (judges to be announced). Also new this year, a scholarship will be given to a young entrepreneur who participates in the show. The evening's proceeds, including books collected and the funds to buy new books, will benefit K is for Kids' Rising Readers program for Collier County students with a percentage going towards Barron Collier High's Helping Hands for Prom. In honor of K is for Kids' "Bring a Book, Bring a Friend" month celebrated throughout February, guests are encouraged to bring a book suitable for a child. Books are needed for kids of all ages, from toddlers to teens. Students may earn community service hours for their book donations and for bringing a friend. High school and college students may earn community service hours for attending. Presented by Signature Group Holdings and Arthrex, the show is a student community project "building readers and leaders" and is a partnership of K is for Kids Foundation and Barron Collier High, in collaboration with Collier County Public Schools. Top sponsors include Southwest Florida Modeling Agency, the Naples Daily News, Comcast, and ITZ Media Group/SWFL Charity TV. The show has broad community support with more than 50 businesses and organizations supporting the teens' efforts. The latest fashions in clothing, jewelry, hair and make-up will be showcased by A.
