Lecture description: The historic heart of the 110,000 acre Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve is the small bay, called Rookery Bay at the mouth of Henderson Creek in south central Collier County. Estuaries need just the right amount of freshwater, and at the right time of year, to maintain their health and productivity. Learn about the plants and animals affected by altered freshwater flows, and what you and the community can do to boost the health of the Rookery Bay Estuary.
