Restaurants from Coconut Point are teaming up again for the sixth annual Taste of Coconut Point, an all-day family food festival featuring delectable tastes and beverage sampling, sponsored by Seminole Casino, on Sunday, October 20 from 11:30 AM to 4 PM. Along with exceptional food and drinks, Southwest Florida residents and visitors will enjoy live music, cooking demonstrations, children’s activities and fabulous shopping with special offers from mall retailers. Throughout Coconut Point’s open-air corridor, the mouthwatering aromas of Mexican, Italian, Asian Fusion and more will fill the streets and captivate the senses of all local foodies. Guests will enjoy live music from CTO High Voltage and can sample fares from local restaurants including: • Ruth’s Chris Steak House • Hurricane Grill & Wings • Pagelli’s Rustic Tuscan Grill • Panera Bread • Southfork Grille • Stir Crazy • Ted’s Montana Grill • And more! “We are thrilled to once again host Taste of Coconut Point for the sixth consecutive year,” said Tara Beauchesne, director of marketing and business development at Coconut Point. “This event really gives people a 'taste' of what Coconut Point and our community partners are all about. It is the must-attend festival of the season by offering delicious flavors and fabulous activities that is sure to excite all Southwest Florida families.” There is a $3 entry fee to enjoy all of the activities at Taste of Coconut Point; ticket prices for sampling range from $1 to $6. There will also be beer and wine available for purchase at the event. Children under 12 are free to enter and a separate fee will be applied to children’s activities which will include bounce houses, face painting and more! The entry fee benefits the Bonita Springs Chamber of Commerce, Estero Chamber of Commerce, Keep Lee County Beautiful and the Simon Youth Foundation. To kick-off the annual food festival, five restaurants will compete in a Chef’s Competition on Tuesday, October 15 with the winner being announced to the public during Taste of Coconut Point. Each restaurant’s chef will prepare one entrée to present to a panel of expert judges. New this year, chefs can compete in a second category for the best “grab-and-go” food item such as unique twist to pizza, sandwich or salad. Each dish will be rated based on overall taste, presentation/appearance, and originality/uniqueness. The restaurant with the highest score will receive a $100 Simon gift card.
