Head/Neck Cancer - 1st Annual Awareness Walk
The idea for an awareness walk in Fort Myers came about when Stacey Brill, a Speech Pathologist who helps Head & Neck cancer patients re-learn how to swallow after they have had treatment, noticed that many of her patients were unable to afford the co-pays and had difficulty paying for other costs associated with the cancer treatments. She decided to start Head & Neck Cancer, A Hard Thing to Swallow to help these patients. Stacey is also a believer in preventing Head & Neck Cancer or at least catching it early via screening examinations. She therefore started an annual screening event, free to the public, for this purpose. Come out and participate or simply donate online. Your support means a lot to those in need.
