Ikebana Flower Arranging "Working In Glass"
Clear Opportunity at Naples Ikebana Meeting on February 6th Naples Ikebana Chapter #160 is honored to announce that Muriel Scrivner, an outstanding teacher of the Ikenobo School of flower arranging will conduct a demonstration on “Designing In Glass Containers” at their meeting on February 6th beginning at 9 a.m. at the Moorings Presbyterian Church,791 Harbour Drive. Ikenobo is one of the earliest schools of Japanese flower arranging and is one of the schools represented in the organization. The public is invited to join us for the meeting, a full Ginza or market place at no charge but the workshop requires an advanced registration and fee of $15.00. Mrs. Scriver has devoted her professional life to the study and teaching of Ikebana floral arts. She earned a degree as a Senior Professor, First Class in 1990 from Ikenobo University in Kyoto, Japan and has continued to take post doctorate advanced studies in Kyoto and San Francisco. She has been an instructor in art and Ikebana floral arts from 1968 to the present. She also established a commercial floral design school in 1976 as well as a commercial floral shop and Federal Post Office Branch which she continued until 1994. She is the recipient of numerous awards for her artistic and community contributions and has produced an educational film,”Flower Care and Meanings” for elementary and high school. Mrs. Scrivner will be demonstrating flowers arranged in a variety of glass containers at the meeting on February 6th. Following the meeting and her demonstration, Sensei Muriel Scrivner will conduct the workshop. Just a reminder that advanced reservations are required to insure we have materials for you..
