Southwest Florida Reading Festival Saturday, March 16, 2013 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Harborside Event Center & Centennial Park in the Fort Myers River District 1375 Monroe Street Fort Myers, FL 33901 239-337-READ (7323) Presented by the Lee County Library System The Southwest Florida Reading Festival is the area's premier literary event! This free annual festival incites a passion for reading. The festival’s big claim to fame is a line-up of nationally acclaimed best-selling authors for all ages and reading interests. Authors will give presentations, take questions from the audience, and sign books for fans. Last year the Festival hosted two dozen nationally acclaimed authors and two audio narrators. 2013 will again have over a dozen nationally acclaimed authors. There will be simultaneous programs occurring on seven stages, teen and children’s arts and craft activities, Read the News will be videotaped by WINK TV, every child will receive a new book of their choice, the Lee County Teachers of English will award the 2013 Aspiring Author Awards, there will be eLibrary demonstrations of library electronic resources, lots of food vendors, and over 80 Marketplace exhibitors. Thousands of adults, teens and children will celebrate the power of reading and learn about the latest and greatest in books and accessories. You won’t want to miss this exciting and fun day!
