Farming on 10 acres or less workshop series to be held in Naples Robert Halman, Agriculture / Small farms Extension Agent – Collier County The Collier County University of Florida IFAS Extension’s Agriculture program will be holding a four session Small Farms Workshop series – Farming on 10 Acres or less at the Collier County Extension office (in front of the fairgrounds) in Naples. These sessions will be held each Tuesday evening in June beginning at 6-9 pm. These workshop sessions are designed for the small farm operator (full or part-time) that wishes grow fruit and vegetables for the farmer market or restaurant trade or who are considering some field of livestock production on their small or limited acreage. Cost of the conference will be: $15 .00/ farm operation for each session ($50.00 discount for all 4 sessions). Attend one or all sessions. Participants can register on line at http://firstname.lastname@example.org These workshops will provide basic information about all the different aspects as possibilities for a small farming operation. We will explore some economic and business basics of agricultural vegetable and fruit production; look at specialty (organic, natural) production systems and markets as possibilities; give some basics of animal health, pasture and forage requirements fencing, housing, handling and holding equipment for all types of animal species.
