Earth Day Jam 2012 Press Release A200, Strange Arrangement and The CTO High Voltage Band are just a few of the 12 total bands scheduled to play in an all star line-up performing at Earth Day Jam 2012 to benefit the Lewis P. Tabarrini Children’s Music Outreach Foundation. The event will take place at Valerie’s Lounge, located at 17264 San Carlos Blvd, Fort Myers Beach in the Indian Creek Shopping Center. The concert will run from 12pm-8pm on Sunday, April 22nd, 2012. Event proceeds will benefit The Tabarrini Foundation, a local non-profit organization whose mission is to provide instruments and lessons to children who may not have the means to do so themselves. Lewis believed that a boy or girl with a musical instrument in their hands is less likely to be getting into trouble, and he personally provided more than one child with their very first musical instrument. The organization was founded by Lew’s children, including Bob Tabarrini of A200, one of the days featured bands. “When my father Lew passed away, my heart broke and my world felt so empty,” said Tabarrini. “As I sat and reflected upon my Dad, I realized that even though he was not a musician, he truly loved music. As a tribute to my Dad, the Tabarrini children established the foundation to continue the heart and spirit of a wonderful father who simply loved children and loved music.” So, with the help of friends and the support of the community, The Tabarrini Foundation was born. There will be numerous raffles throughout the day, including a 50/50 raffle and one for a Ricky Medlocke (guitarist, Lynyrd Skynyrd) autographed guitar. BamBandz will be there ( and for each bracelet sold, a portion of the proceeds will go to the Tabarrini Foundation. A Cornhole Tournament will run throughout the day and featured at the event a Dunk a Rocker Dunk Tank where several favorite local musicians will be up for dunking! Another notable happening for the day includes the debut of a new all original band called Soul Funk Unity. The bank consists of Mike Rogers; formerly of Vanilla Crosby, Greg Sallen; formerly of Geek Skwad, Mike Brophy and Bobby Blakey; formerly of The Drunk Monkeys and the new guy on the scene Prentice “Phenom” Harris. They will be bringing an exciting new mixture of soul, funk and rock to the event that is sure to have everyone grooving!
