We are planning our 3rd Annual Public Safety Chili Cook-Off on March 24th from 11:00am to 5:00pm. It will be held at the Gulf Coast Town Center Mall. We will have our mobile command unit, K-9, bomb truck, marine patrol, an ambulance and a fire truck on display with lots of demonstrations. We will also have free fingerprinting for the kids and free 911 stickers and coloring books. Vote on your favorite chili! Chili and hot dogs are available all day long! Proceeds will benefit the Communications Training Fund for the 911 operators and dispatchers of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. Every year we try to send several 911 Operators to the state conference where there are 5-7 one hour classes running all day for 3 days. They range from customer service to hostage situations and everything in between.
