Naples Concert Band 40th Anniversary Concert
The Naples Concert Band (NCB), under the direction of Harris Lanzel, will host two 40th Anniversary Concerts on Saturday, March 3 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Lely High School auditorium and Sunday, March 4 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Cambier Park Band Shell. The Naples Concert Band has brought together a star-studded lineup of guest performers to join the band in celebration of its 40th anniversary. Each guest is scheduled to reprise his or her most memorable performance. Guest performers include Dr. Michael Baron, pianist; Janine and Duncan Connell, vocalists; Peter Thomas, narrator; Gale Waterland Scott, conductor laureate, Frank Summers, synthesizer, Amy Bright, vocalist; Malinda Zenor, composer and pianist; Lisa Federico, vocalist; Jenny Bintliff, vocalist; Craig Greusel, vocalist; and Glenn Basham, violin and harmonica. The band will also perform the dynamic “Festive Overture” by Dmitri Shostakovich and feature the trumpet section in “March of the Steel Men” by Charles Belsterling. Please join the band for these two performances in March and help celebrate its 40th anniversary. This Naples Concert Band performance is presented by Quarles and Brady. Guests are encouraged to arrive early with lawn chairs and blankets for the performance at the Cambier Park Band Shell. Admission is free to both performances, with donations appreciated. Donations received at each concert go toward student scholarships, which are awarded each year to deserving student members of the band. The Naples Concert Band is a non-profit organization dedicated to entertaining the community with old-fashioned concerts in the park.
