This rally is in solidarity with Occupy Wall Street’s National Day of Action. Bank of America was chosen because of its role in transferring of $75,000,000,000,000 in toxic holdings into the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, effectively making the American people pay for its failure. Earlier this month, due to outrage stemming from a $5 surcharge for debit card usage from major banks, more than 650,000 people moved over $4.5 billion in funds from big banks into credit unions. As a leaderless movement, all participants, regardless of income, agree that there needs to be change on a large level, with emphasis on removing the influence of money from banks and corporations from politics.
