Canoe & Kayak magazine presents the Calusa Classic, a 10-mile race for canoes, kayaks, surf skis and outriggers along the Sanibel Causeway, into the Gulf and back through San Carlos Bay. First-place prize is $500. Spectators can watch Olympic-caliber racers from the Causeway shores and the Sanibel fishing pier and lighthouse point.
