Video Journalist

Hey there! Thanks for taking the time to learn a little bit more about me and what I do.

I am originally from the suburbs of Maryland that surround Washington, D.C. As you can imagine, I love the Redskins, Old Bay seasoning, and have a unique appreciation for museums and culture.

I am and always have been quite talkative, so as a kid my parents put me in a performing and creative arts school so hopefully I could channel some of my energy into something productive. They were onto something. By the sixth grade I was “majoring” in media production. Today, I barely remember what we learned in that class all those years ago, but it definitely got me thinking about doing the news when I grew up.

So for college I chased those dreams from the suburbs of our nation’s capital to the suburbs of Miami. I became a PROUD Miami Hurricane, studying broadcast journalism and political science at the University of Miami (located in Coral Gables, FL – not the shores of South Beach as commonly mistaken). At UM I anchored the flagship nightly newscast while leading the newsroom as the station manager.

While I owe so much of my training as a journalist to the remarkable professors and unique hands-on learning opportunities at School of Communication at the University of Miami, I have also been fortunate enough to have a couple of amazing internships. Summers in between college I interned at WTTG the Fox station in my hometown of DC where, amongst other crazy opportunities, I found myself interviewing the cofounder of Apple, Steve Wozniak one-on-one. The following summer I interned at CBS News in NYC assigned to the National Desk. There, I found myself in the middle of some of the biggest news stories of the year – including the Colorado movie theater massacre, the Sikh Temple Shooting in Wisconsin, and of course the Supreme Court’s healthcare ruling.

My work at the network led me to continue my efforts behind the scenes as an associate producer at WFOR, the CBS station in Miami. Now, I’m jumping in front of the camera as a reporter here in Southwest Florida. Finally able to put my gift of gab to good use.

I’m here to help and most importantly inform you. So if you ever have an idea of how I can do that, or do it better – let me know.

I love social media, so connect with me – I will always respond! I know, a lot of information. I told you I was talkative!
