FOX 4 Weekend Anchor
Thank you so much for clicking on my page to find out more about me! You may find some very incriminating evidence and I’m sure I’ll regret some of this later.
Let’s not waste any time on that embarrassing stuff. Looking back, it’s no surprise I ended up where I am. I once sat at my dining room table as a child, the recording light on, reading the news dressed at Dolly Parton. I have no comment on whether that tape still exists. I also co-hosted a ‘popular’ radio show as a child with my best friend. I think we maxed out at one regular listener, my mother.
I’m a Midwestern girl born and raised in the Sunflower State in Olathe, KS. My above average curiosity of most things took to me pursue my passion at the University of Oklahoma where I graduated with a degree in journalism and a minor in sociology.
After college I wanted to see the world and spent 4 months in Europe backpacking and living with a family in Italy teaching them English. Va Bene!
I most recently worked in Topeka, KS for Kansas First News. As the main anchor there I had the opportunity to moderate a debate on C-SPAN for a closely watched U.S. Senate race. I was also the first local news reporter in the country to interview a group of Americans detained in Haiti accused of kidnapping orphans after the earthquake there.
Being a part of the community around me is a big part of my life. I’ve been recognized for my work with the American Cancer Society, Meals on Wheels and most importantly, learning life lessons from people with developmental disabilities. I think they hold the key to the true meaning of life and love.
I love being outside, running, biking and kayaking. Football season is the best time of the year for me; you can find me any weekend watching my Oklahoma Sooners, (Boomer!) or praying for a win with the Chiefs. My other passions are my two rescue dogs, coffee, and traveling. I can’t get enough of exploring the Sunshine State!
If you see me out enjoying my new home, PLEASE say hello!
