About Matt
I joined the Fox 4 news team in April 2010 as a general assignment reporter and am thrilled to be here in sunny southwest Florida. I was born and raised on Long Island, NY so I feel right at home by the beach.
After receiving my masters degree in journalism from Columbia University in New York, I worked as an investigative reporter for KRCG-TV in Missouri's state capital. My reporting has led to the resignation of a mayor and a nationwide recall. I was recently honored with a Missouri Broadcaster's Association award for investigative reporting.
I attended Marist College in upstate New York. There I interned at WNBC-TV in Manhattan, working closely with the station's political team during the 2004 election. After graduating, I worked as an assignment editor for News 12 The Bronx and later co-produced a documentary about New York's juvenile justice system. I love to travel, lived briefly in Prague and spent time in the Middle East.
I've always loved to write and from an early age I knew I wanted to be a journalist. I consider myself lucky to be doing what I love – which is meeting new people and telling their stories. Feel free to send me your story ideas; I'm always In Your Corner.
