About Julie
Hi there! It's good to see you.
Here's a little bit about me so you can get to know the lady you see on TV.
I am a true Floridian. I grew up just north of Naples in Sarasota. While in high school, I first learned about broadcast journalism. I anchored the high school morning news every day (I like to think I've come a long way from those days). My father saw a future for me in journalism and encouraged me to pursue this career and nothing else. It was after he passed away from a heart attack that I realized dad was right...broadcast is a perfect fit for me. I am dedicated and passionate about journalism. I can't imagine working in any other field.
I got my degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa. My last semester in college, I packed up my bags and headed to the Windy City. Interning at WGN was an amazing experience. I worked on national stories, including the Northern Illinois campus shooting and the highly-publicized R. Kelly trial.
After college, I landed my first TV gig at WXOW in Wisconsin, where I worked as a general assignment reporter and anchor.
Although I was able to adjust to the winters (kind of), I gladly accepted a job with Fox 4 as the Collier County reporter.
I am ecstatic to be back in Florida, and I look forward to meeting many of you. I'm also pretty happy I can wear flip flops in December again.
Thanks for taking the time to learn about me! Take good care, friend.
