IDs for kids

Sparring, sliding, and sightseeing. Most of these kids don't have a clue why they're at the Masonic lodge.

"Because they want me to be on tv?" asked 9 Year old Adrianna.

"I'm eating lollipops, " explained 3 Year Old Alaina.

But Alaina's grandmother didn't just come for the free lollipops. She came to sign up Alaina at the Masonic Child Identification Program. She strolled off with a hefty packet of information to give police if her little lollipop lover ever goes missing.

"I think it's important to have it on record," she explained, "in case anything ever happens."

With video recordings, fingerprints, and measurements, nearly fifty kids were put on the record....just in case. Robert Carter of the Masonic Lodge told me he doesn't keep any copies, because the program is strictly for parents.

"When something catastrophic happens, many times parents aren't thinking clearly," Carter said, "and they don't have a current picture of their kids, tape recordings of what their child sounds like."

And, as soon as they finished the serious business, these kids bounced back to their real jobs.

"I just rode on the rides and had fun," explained 9 Year old Johnnie.
