Could the housing crisis get any worse? "I wish I had a crystal ball to give you that answer," says realtor Tom Bringardner. While he can't predict the future, Bringardner can look at current home sales trends and give an optimistic outlook that we may have reached as low as we can go. "There is light at the end of the tunnel," he says.
Leading the way out are more showings, pending sales and homes for rent. Bringardner says, "all those numbers are increasing and an indicator to me that people are still interested in Southwest Florida."
Bringardner points out prices probably won't soar anytime soon. But affordability has its advantages as a lower price attracts buyers. Other analysts say it will take a few years for those buyers soak up what is on the market, repair the damage of record foreclosures and abandoned houses.
"I think we are really at the bottom of the market right now. Now, whether that bottom extends out or whether we see another rise, is yet to be determined," says Bringardner
