DANCING WITH OUR STARS!
Fox 4 Anchors Patrick Nolan & Amy Wegmann took to the dance floor for this year's Wishmakers Ball to benefit the Make A Wish Foundation. The foundation grants wishes to Southwest Florida children who are dealing with life threatening conditions.
The theme of this year's event was "A Night of Dancing With Our Stars." Patrick and Amy, along with four other familiar faces from the community (including former Fort Myers police chief Larry Hart and New-Press sports columnist Deron Synder) spent the past four months taking lessons from the pros and Rhythm In Motion Dance Studio in Cape Coral.
Patrick danced to "Cuban Pete" with instructor Kristy Castrogiovanni. Amy danced to the "George Of The Jungle" theme with instructor Nick Koempel. Each couple danced in front of full house at Sanibel Harbour resort on October 27th.
A panel of judges (including some of last year's contestants) chose Patrick as the winner and awarded him a stunning trophy which features a modern art version couple entangled in a dance. The audience members also picked their favorite by secret ballot and awarded Patrick the "The People's Choice Award." Lee County elections supervisor (who was a contestant last year) presented Patrick with a special plaque for that honor.
Fox 4 Rising's Wild Bill Wood represented the station in last year's competition. He danced to the song "Love & Marriage." It may not be a marriage, but Fox 4 is hoping its relationship with Make A Wish Foundation will last for the ages! Have any ideas of who should represent our station next year? Let us know. In the meantime, enjoy the full versions of Patrick & Amy's routines!
And our thanks to Peter Iberseder Productions (239-841-7313) for sharing the Video with us and you!
