About Amy
Well Hello There -- and thanks for clicking to find out a little more about me.
I was born in Worcester, Massachusetts and lived in the small town of Auburn until I was 11 years old. My father decided to take early retirement and move the family to sunny Florida, Cape Coral to be exact. After spending my teen years locally, I headed off to Florida State University where I graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
My career in television started with an amazing opportunity. I was granted an internship in Dusseldorf, Germany, working on an entertainment show. Not only was I able to perfect my German, but from that moment on, I was hooked on television. I moved back to Florida and landed my first job in TV News as an Associate Producer at a local station.
After much determination and learning the ins and outs of the business, I accepted a reporter position at FOX 4 News, in January of 2005. After 14 months at FOX 4 and what seems like a thousand hurricanes, I was promoted to Weekend Anchor and then I made my move to the mornings. In September of 2007 I was promoted and currently anchor Fox 4 News at 10 and Newstracker at 11 with Patrick Nolan.
After 10 Months together Patrick and I were voted 2008 "Best TV Anchor Team" in the News-Press "Best of SWFL" poll. We are proud to say we got the honor in 2009 too! Thanks to all of you who voted for us!
I love being able to work in the community that I grew up in and look forward to helping organizations in this area any way that I can. When I am away from work you can find me spending time with my family, namely my adorable niece Kaila!!!
I also love to play the piano and have taken up the guitar too! And of course, I'm always cheering on my team... GO NOLES!!!
