One thing's for sure when it comes to bringing the Jackson Laboratory to Collier County, your property taxes won't be used to pay for the project.
Commissioners made that decision today. Now, staff have to look at other ways to fund the biomedical park.
The project is estimated to cost $260 million, split evenly between the state and county.
Commissioner Fred Coyle says funding sources wouldn't become final until funding from the state is secure.
"We're looking at perhaps an interdepartmental borrowing within the county itself so we don't have to get a loan or float bonds," he said.
It's not a done deal yet. Some residents are still against the project saying they don't want it to fall on the taxpayer's dime.
