It has all the elements of a soap opera. But it's actually a real life love triangle, that's costing a Cape Coral officer her rank.
Sergeant Georgeann Lytle used to date the former police chief's son Steve Petrovich.
But when Petrovich started dating a bartender -- Kayla Holden -- here at Backstreets -- the 2 women started exchanging words on-line.
Then on june 18th, sgt. Lytle told 2 officers to pull kayla's car over when she got out of work at 2 that morning.
It all went down in the back parking lot of Backstreets. Kayla was leaving work with some co-workers, they were sitting here in their cars, about to go home. They didn't even get the car in drive, before 2 police cruisers pulled up behind them with their lights on.
The report states -- "Sgt Lytle admitted to both officers that she thought kayla holder was talking about her... No one was handcuffed or issued any type of citation. However it was confirmed all the subjects and their cars in this incident were detained against their will."
Seargent Lytle was demoted, took a pay cut and got a one day suspension. But the big question: Does the punishment fit the crime?
We tried to get a comment from Kayla Holden, but no one answered the door.
The mayor didn't want to comment on this sergeant who abused her power.
And the city spokesman wouldn't let us talk to the city manager or his assistant. No one at Backstreets would comment on this incident either.
