Folks here in Southwest Florida are looking to hit up BP for claims cash.
Close to twenty people packed Pine Island's Welcome Center today to talk to a BP claim adjuster. Some say they've been trying to get reimbursed for weeks.
"We've filed a lot of paperwork. They keep asking for more and we keep giving them what they've asked for," Edwin Connery said. "And, at this point, going through their large claim process doesn't seem to be accomplishing a lot."
The BP representative said the company has given out $400, 000 in Southwest Florida so far and says he's working as quickly as he can.
