MARK DANNI - DIRECTOR OF PERFORMING ARTS: "Yeah so this is just our wall of fame over the years."
Walk down the halls of The Community School Of Naples...and one face quickly stands out.
MARK DANNI: "The first musical I did here was star might and paige was the diva in that.. There she is in her diva chair being fanned by her banchee women."
From high school diva...to the big leagues.
PAIGE MILES: "My name is Paige Miles and i'm 23 years old:21 i'm originally from Naples Florida and I live in Houston Texas."
Paige Miles tries out for American Idol.
PAIGE MILES: "My aunt the last thing she said to me before she passed was you need to audition for American Idol, I did this for her,"
Last night, she got a golden ticket.
Now she's headed For Hollywood, and locals are so proud.
"I think that's awesome, way to go."
AMY: "Do you guys have good voices? Singing or screaming?"
"Singing.. No no we're good cheerleaders."
Even though Miles hasn't graced this stage since she graduated from The Community School of Naples in 2004, her performing arts teacher can't forget her.
MARK DANNI: "She filled this theater with her voice and her personality and that's what I always remember about her."
MARK DANNI: "[Her voice is] a big soulful, soulful rich voice..and passion behind it…when she sings she really feels what she's saying ."
You won't get to hear her voice first hand yet. Not until Paige is featured on idol. But this guy knows what he's talking about. Danni worked on broadway for more than a decade, and still runs a professional company in naples.
I asked what her vocal weakness is.
MARK DANNI: "Gosh, I don't know, I think she'd go far. I think when you get down to the last couple, you're dealing with such talent across the board. That you'd have to nit pick."
He...and many others will be watching closely.
MARK DANNI: Oh every week are you kidding? Maybe we'll tape it and show it in class every week."
We're all watching to see if our Southwest Florida gal goes all the way.
