Cape Coral Police Detective Steven Petrovich has resigned from the department.

Petrovich, along with Sgt. James O'Brien, had been on administrative duty since September 14 pending the outcome of an investigation being conducted by federal authorities. 

The Secret Service has not released any details on the investigation. Petrovich and O'Brien do have a business together, offering security services and concealed weapons classes. No charges have been filed at this time.

Petrovich has been an officer with the department for 11 years. He is the son of Cape Coral Police Chief Rob Petrovich.
