An angry dad comes to Four In Your Corner...sick about what's happening to his 12 year old daughter. Get this: she is stuck on her school bus...For 2 and half hours...every day! And she only lives 6 miles from the school!
KEVIN, DAD: "She's getting out at 4 but not getting to the bus stop til quarter to six...six o'clock...and two hours on a bus ride seems to be a long time..."
2 hours is from here to Tampa...it just doesn't make sense.
Kevin tells us it takes her 30 minutes to get to school in the morning...but 2 hours on the way home. She's coming home with headaches. He barely sees her, but when he goes to Lee County Schools for help...he's shut down.
And that's why he came to us. Since we've been having a hard time getting straight answers from the district, too. We decided to check on his daughter's bus...mile after mile...to see just where it actually goes.
Four In Your Corner's Rob Koebel grabbed some newsroom helpers...filled up his tank...and hit the road.
We met Kevin's daughter right at her school, and watched the bus take her home. Does Kevin's story stack up? Take a look for yourself.

Now that we've seen this 2 hour ride for ourselves, we'll keep pushing to find out how the Lee County Schools can violate this Florida policy. We want to know just how often they are breaking those rules.
We also want to know if your kids are given these long rides, too.
Here are those Florida standards...
If you know a violation of this policy in the Lee County School or any other Florida district, email us at news@fox4now.com so we can compile a complete list.
