The clerk of the circuit court warns that a private company is mailing out letters offering to give you a certified copy of your property deed. The cost just $59.50. The company, Florida Record Retrieval, Inc out of Plantation Florida is offering the service by mail, fax or internet.
The clerk wants you to know that you can get a certified copy of your property deed through their deparment for $1 plus a $2 charge for document certification.
CLERK: "We need to do our part to make sure the public is informed about the alternatives... so they can make informed decisions. They can cerntinly pay fifty-nine fifty, if they want, or they can come down to the clerks office for about 3 bucks."
