Charlotte County deputies say a Punta Gorda man had sex with his girlfriend's 18-month-old daughter.
On Tuesday, detectives arrested 59-year-old Glenn M. Nelson and charged him with Capital Sexual Battery and Lewd and Lascivious Molestation on a Child Under 12 Years Old.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for the mother's home in Port Charlotte, and found child pornography images on her computer. The CCSO Computer Crimes Forensic Investigator also found files and chat sessions between the mother and Nelson discussing having sex via webcam with her baby.
Detectives said their investigation revealed Nelson and his girlfriend engaged in sexual acts with her child since the girl was born. Photos were taken on numerous occasions and also sent to Nelson's home computer and his workplace, according to police.
Nelson remains at the Charlotte County Jail on no bond. The baby was originally turned over to the Department of Children and Families, and is now in the custody of a relative.
The Sheriff's Office says more charges are pending.
