MIAMI SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) - A South Florida boy who became an Internet sensation during the presidential campaign is being presented a full scholarship to a Georgia university this weekend.
Damon Weaver will accept his full scholarship to Albany State University on Saturday morning. The 11-year-old created a buzz last year when he landed an interview with Vice President Joe Biden. Closing the bit, Weaver quipped: "Senator Biden is now my homeboy."
The university first announced the scholarship this spring. Albany State University has also offered Damon free summer sessions through middle and high school.
