A very comfortable start to your Thursday as we start out in the lower 70s before hitting the lower and mid 90s this afternoon. We will enjoy a partly sunny skies across much of Southwest Florida with only the slightest chance of rain inland. With Hurricane Earl in close proximity to the Sunshine State, we may see some isolated rain develop on the central east coast; this may work its way to the interior part of the state, but this would be a worst case scenario. Our skies will become partly cloudy overnight as our overall steering winds begin to shift to the southwest. Clouds and rain will be approaching Southwest Florida from the southwest, starting our Friday off with some isolated thunderstorms over the Gulf of Mexico. Those showers and thunderstorms will move inland, impacting much of southern Florida during the afternoon and evening hours. The heat and humidity will return to Southwest Florida over the weekend as our winds continue from the southwest. Look for more showers and thunderstorms to arrive from the south-southwest on Saturday impacting much of the area once again. By Sunday our steering winds will begin to shift from the southwest to the northwest; this means our thunderstorms will arrive from the east coast to Southwest Florida as we head into the afternoon hours.

By Monday, much of the rain will start out over the Gulf of Mexico before moving into the coastal counties. Eventually our steering winds will shift to the north and northeast for much of next week which will keep our showers and thunderstorms coming at us from the east coast of Florida.
